French Press Review: Dove Stainless Steel French Press by Cozyna

My recent foray into the world of French presses hasn't left me disappointed, and Cozyna's Dove Stainless Steel French Press is no exception. The sleek stainless steel frame, handle, and lid are made to last for a very long time. This particular French press holds 8 cups (if you count each cup as 4 ounces).

One thing I immediately love about this French press is the fact that I don't have to worry about breaking glass. No, I'm not fully opposed to glass carafés--I just prefer not worrying about whether or not I might accidentally drop the press and watch it shatter into a thousand pieces, and then begin the arduous process of trying to tiptoe over scattered shards without filleting my feet.

Brewing coffee in a French press is simple: you heat water on the stove, dump a few tablespoons of coffee grounds into the press (the scoop was included with the product I received), and then pour the hot water over the grounds. Let it sit for a couple of minutes, then on goes the lid and down goes the filter. I've found that coffee brewed in a French press tends to have a much smoother flavor than if it were brewed in a conventional coffee maker.
