I've had a few people ask me about the release of Already Dead, the sequel to Almost Dead, and I wanted to update any readers who might be waiting for it. The first draft is finished, but I pushed back the release date to Halloween of this year. Why? Because the story wasn't speaking to me anymore. For any writers out there who might be reading this, you know that attempting to continue a story that doesn't hold your interest is a big no-no. When writing any book, if you don't proceed with enthusiasm, you won't have a finished product that reflects said enthusiasm. It might be shorter than normal. The characters might not sound like themselves. The plot might be suffering. Really, it could be any number of outcomes, but the point is: if you aren't excited about writing a certain story, then you need to step away from that story for a while. Just a while. Remember, the first draft is finished, but I need to re-work part of the plot, and then I need to edit. And what better day to release a book about the afterlife and ghosts than Halloween?

Now, for the final part of this blog post, I wanted to announce a new project I've contemplated working on for a couple of weeks. This project will be started AFTER I finish the Dead Duology in October. It will be an end-of-the-world, you're-in-the-apocalypse-as-it-happens kind of story. I wanted zombies, and I wanted aliens. Crazy, I know. But I have yet to see a story that features both, so guess what? I'm going to write that story. But this won't be just any story, my friends. This will be serialized fiction. This will be episodic. It will read like you're watching a television show, with a new episode released each week. Here's what I can tell you about the upcoming season:
1. The first episode will be free
1. The first episode will be free
2. I plan on eight episodes for the first season
3. Each episode will be $0.99
4. These episodes will be bundled into paperback format at the end of the season
5. This will be New Adult; there will be too much blood and violence for it to be Young Adult
I'm currently working on the cover, which I hope to have released in the near future. Also, the tentative title for said season is "When the World Ended and We Were Invaded." Kinda long, but it stuck with me, and I like it.
I'll keep everyone informed on this blog, Goodreads, Facebook, and Twitter of new releases, dropped prices, and giveaways. If you want to join my mailing list, you'll receive discounts on my books throughout the year, as well as first looks/snippets of upcoming stories before they're released. Click this link to join my mailing list, or you can find the short form under my "Mailing List" page on the right side of this blog.
Happy reading!
