WIP Wednesday!

Guys! I have to hear some good news. Tell me something about your current WIP.

Last week, we talked about goals. Did you guys reach those goals? If so, did you set new ones this week? This month?

I actually surpassed my goal of 10k for last weekend and I'm sitting at over 12k now. I'm hoping to reach 15k by the end of this weekend. (I know, I should raise the bar, but I have to beta read for someone A-SAP.)

  1. Yay for surpassing your goal, Becca!
I'm keeping myself away from them right now. Blame exams and real life getting in the way *grumbles*

  2. I did not reach my goals. Bad writer! But I have high hopes for this week...

  3. Congratulations on surpassing your goals! And good luck reaching 15k this weekend. :]

I didn't achieve my goals, but I am further along than I was last week, which is a plus for me.

  4. Congratulations on reaching--and then SURPASSING--your goal! I knew you could do it!

My good news is that I now have over 7,000 words on my new WIP(!) which I'm super-happy about! I don't know if I'm going to be setting a goal for this week, though. Other than the one I've written about, that is.

Good luck with this week's goal!

  6. Bee - Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about real life getting in the way. I'm sure, at some point, you'll have to take a break from real life. ;)

Elizabeth - That's okay. I have the utmost faith that you'll reach your goals this week. :D

Sandy - Anything more than what you had last week is a good thing. Keep it up, chica!

Remilda - 7k is great!! :D Sounds like you're about to be out of that 6-8k rut. ;)

Lydia - Revisions by the end of April is a good thing. *checks calendar* Not too far away, either. :)

  8. I did... I finished editing the next 100 pages before Christmas.

I like to keep the bar low.

Then I only trip over it while jumping over instead of smacking my head.

(Oh and the word verification was ingspird... I think it's a sign)

  10. This Sunday, I figured out was missing, so I've spent the last few days - especially yesterday, adding what was needed. Now I'm polishing. Critiques, revisions, and submissions to follow!

  11. I didn't make my goal of 20k by the end of the weekend. I did manage 17.5k. Not going to set a goal for this week as I have promised to beta-read, and will be working late everyday but today and Saturday. Life sure has an annoying ability to get in the way of forward progress.

  12. Theresa - Sometimes I think editing is more fun than writing the first draft!

Jason - 17.5k is great! I've been doing some beta reading too, which temporarily halted progress on my WIP.

  13. Congrats on exceeding your goal! Good news from me... My co-author and I had a great talk about what we need to change as we start the second draft. :)

  15. Good job Becca! keep it up :) I’m still writting each day on the Dr. Monroe story, writing general writing ideas down, reading the AWforums (thanks for pointing me in that direction) and though it is painfully slow, I’m still doing photo shop work.

  16. Burning - Sounds like you're a busy person! Keep up with those ideas. Otherwise, they're easy to forget. :P

  17. Ah, no goals. Not while spring semester is still in session. I plan on completing one novel over my summer break though, just as I completed one over my winter break. But I am def excited about my 2 WIPs

  18. Yay for conquering goals! My writing has been less than usual because of exams coming up, but I'm hoping during the small break between spring and summer classes, I can write a bunch!

  19. T.J. and Christa - It seems like it would be hard to find time to write when school is ongoing. Here's hoping you pass exams and the writing goes well this summer! :D
